Meditate With Tarot

Meditation allows us to bypass the analytical mind and enter a state of receptivity. When combined with tarot, this practice can:

  • Deepen your intuitive connection to the cards

  • Reveal personal meanings beyond traditional interpretations

  • Activate archetypal energies within your psyche

  • Facilitate emotional healing and spiritual insight

And that’s why we don’t need to memorize meanings.

How to Meditate with Tarot

1. Choose a Card

Go in order if it feels right. Or select any card that resonates with you. It might be one you’re drawn to, one that appeared in a recent reading, or one that challenges you. Trust your intuition.

2. Set the Space

Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Sit comfortably with the card in front of you. You may want to light a candle or play soft music to create a sacred atmosphere.

3. Enter the Card

Eyes open: Gaze softly at the card. Let your eyes take in the colors, symbols, and figures. Do that for about 5 minutes. Set a timer if you feel it will help.

Eyes closed: Visualize stepping into the scene on the card. Imagine yourself as part of the card’s world. What do you see? What do you feel? What do you hear and smell? What is happening? Do that for about 10 minutes. Set a timer if you feel it will help.

4. Dialogue with the Archetype

In your mind, ask the card questions:

  • What message do you have for me?

  • What part of myself do you represent?

  • When in my life have you been with me?

  • How can I integrate your energy into my life?

Listen for responses—not necessarily in words, but in images, sensations, or emotions.

5. Return and Reflect

When you’re ready, gently return to the present moment. Open your eyes and journal your experience. Note any insights, feelings, or symbols that arose.

Meditating with tarot is about getting intimate with eah card. Each card is a doorway to a part of your psyche. By meditating with the cards, you cultivate a personal relationship with the tarot and learn to speak their language fluently.
